I have a vacancy for an experienced Governess/ House manager who also has the skill and to oversee a 14 year old boy and a large property in Bahrain. The position is initially for two years.

You need to have a solid teaching/ Governess background, and have experience working with teenagers and be used to working as a ‘proxy parent’ as the charge is a 14 year old boy whose parents are often abroad for work and other engagements.

If you have experience working in The Middle East and an understanding on Arabic this would be an advantage, however not essential.

My clients are looking for someone quite special who can help the development of their 14 year old son. He currently attends an International school so they seek a governess who can assist him with his education, academic and pastoral. You need to have experience working with teenage boys and have the skills and ability to get the best out of him whilst maintain both a friendship and guardianship over him. The role with have many hats and at times this includes a friend, parent and teacher and you need to have the maturity to be able to change them comfortably.

You will also be required to oversee the house whilst the parents are aboard so this will mean dealing with the staff and any issues that may arise in the property. Therefore your knowledge of working in the Middle East would come in very handy here. Ideally you will have house manager experience, however this is not essential.

Ideally you will have solid employment history and experience as a Governess or solid International teaching history. You will fit and healthy and looking for a new and exciting challenge. You need to articulate and very organised.
